In partnership with the Mojave Water Agency the district is conducting a swamp cooler water usage study in the Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms, Johnson Valley, Apple Valley and surrounding areas.  The data from this study will be for consumptive use water regulations in the near future.  Community homeowner volunteers will allow a water meter to be placed on their water line to their swamp coolers.  An initial reading will be noted, and further periodic readings taken for water consumption data.
